Crystallace’s VMK/VFK Blog

May 31, 2008

So Sorry, Everyone!

I’m sorry I haven’t updated.  VFK hasn’t sent me what I’ve taken to calling “my email” yet, so I can’t play.  There really has been nothing to say, but I’ll update today.  Just don’t expect any updates for a while.

Well, hello new look!  Virtualfamilykingdom.com has gotten a makeover.  They have a pretty new site, with links to Community News, Featured Players and VFK Constitution.  That little sidebar you see has links to Home, Lands, Features and Contact Us.

Let’s take a look at the lands they have.  In VFK’s Colonial lands you can explore colonial Williamsburg, Virginia.  In VFK’s Medieval lands you can visit the magic land of Camelot.  In VFK’s Wild West lands you can roam freely as a cowboy, cowgirl, outlaw or anything your imagination can conjure up.  In VFK’s Victorian lands become an inventor as you catch a glimpse of what the mid to late 1800s were like.  VFK’s Australian lands are coming soon – June 20!

Other news – those who participated in VFK’s beta test program will receive the Day 1 pin, and if you were there for day one of the beta testing then you’ll receive the “I Survived Beta Day 1!” t-shirt, which is “destined to be rare.”  Congratulations all you VFKers, and thanks for finding the errors!  Thanks to the VFK staff, too, for creating VFK.  ^_^

VFK’s current release date is set for June 26.  See you then!

Sincerely, Crystallace

The End of One World, the Beginning of Another

Hello everyone, my name is Crystallace. (Pronounced like it’s spelled, crystal-lace) I’m an avid VMKer – or was up until now – and have enjoyed every minute of it. For those of you who aren’t familiar with VMK, you probably shouldn’t be here, as this blog is centered around my previous life on Disney’s Virtual Magic Kingdom and my new life on the fan created site Virtual Family Kingdom.

Yesterday, May 21, 2008; VMK closed its magical doors to both new and returning players for good. The millions of VMK members and fanatics are very disappointed but we have somehwere to go, Virtual Family Kingdom. VMK_griffin, a VMK staff member, assured me on the night of VMK’s closing that for all the VMK staff know Virtual Famiyl Kingdom is not a scam and is perfectly safe to be on. VMK_wolf (another staff member) was there as well and said nothing to oppose griffin’s statement. This is the first day VFK, or Virtual Family Kingdom is open, but you may need to wait a little bit before you can join if you haven’t preregistered – it seems to me that so many people are trying to get on the website and join that the whole thing is excruciatingly slow (for the majority of the day so far the website has not been working at all, I just attempted to get on it yet again and it was a slow but successful load).

I have not preregistered for VFK but am registering now and can’t wait to to get on. I recommend that you join with the same names you had on VMK, or at least something similar, so others can recognize you if need be. Though we’ll need to start over, none of us will forget VMK, and none of us will cease our efforts to get our precious VMK back.

On that note, if you’re interested in getting Disney to right their wrong and bring VMK back, you can sign a petition for them to do so at the following link: SaveVMK.com

You can also contact Disney by any means possible and request they bring VMK back. Even if we have to pay, we want our VMK! (If Disney says no, don’t let it deter you. Keep on trying!)

A new post is coming soon with some information on VFK. It will be up ASAP, but please give me some time. I’m just human, you know. ^_^

Sincerely, Crystal
